I am me. I am Alston. A butterfly once landed on a machete on the picnic table that was once outside my bedroom window, and it inspired me to write a crappy poem... I like rock. I like it loud. I play guitar, but I suck at it.

I am a student at the University of Alabama majoring in mechanical engineering. I am currently webmaster for the school chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and kept up the school webpage for the ASME Human Powered Vehicle competition. I was in the band for more than half of my high school career, and I quit after an incident with a worthless band director. I played alto saxophone in both marching and concert bands.

Speaking of high school, I would like to own up in a change in personality that I underwent. When I was in about 8th or 9th grade, conceit was the big aspect one would notice about me. By the time I graduated, I had humbled down quite a bit. I suppose bagging groceries for spending money wasn't too bad, was it?
